3 Friends, 3 New Corvettes, One Incredible Day

These friends ordered their new C8 ‘verts, but they didn’t expect that all would arrive on the same truck, on the same day.

Sometimes, things come together just right, and the unexpectedly awesome occurs. This is the case for three pals, all longtime Corvette drivers who had pre-ordered their new C8s. What was surprising was getting the call that all three brand new Corvettes were delivered on the same truck, and arrived at the dealer on the same day. Not only was it an incredibly cool scene, it came with some great Corvette stories.

Rick “Corvette” Conti sold the three fellas their rides, and he picked up a camera to document the day. And this group of Corvette drivers have some beautifully specced rides. Given their collective years of Corvette experience, we’d expect nothing less.

First, the owners. From left to right we have Mark and his wife Karen, Chuck, and Gary with his wife Karen.

Mark and Karen have owned 14 Corvettes over the years. But this marks his first hardtop convertible. The couple travel extensively in their Corvette, but with the improved cargo space in the C8, the change from coupe to convertible was an easy choice.

This is a man who knows what he wants, he’s been a true-blue Corvette fan from the beginning.

“I remember like it was yesterday,” he says. He was 13, and his next door neighbor Bob would often be outside working on his car. Bob would detail his Corvette, and even rotate the seats every 5K miles to ensure even wear. “God rest his soul, if it wasn’t for Bob, I’d never be into Corvettes.”

But Mark’s 2021 C8 Corvette is light years from his early 1979 C3 Corvette. His ’21 HTC ‘Vert comes with a Z51 3LT package, mag ride, red calipers, two-tone seats, carbon flash roof, and Spectra Grey Trident wheels.

Chuck went with the yellow Corvette. A bold choice for a bold man. Everyone agrees that Chuck is a “maniac.” He doesn’t disagree.

“Somebody has to carry the torch,” he agrees. “I drive ’em like I stole ’em.”

And the man has taste. His new C8 is the 10th ‘Vette he’s owned. After seeing the 2020 in Velocity Yellow, he knew this was just what he wanted. Upcoming plans for Chuck include putting some miles on the ticker with road trips, and hitting the track.

“The things these cars are able to do… it blew my mind,” says Chuck of the Corvette’s track chops. But overall, he’s raring to go anywhere, on any road in his new sleek yellow beast. “I can’t wait to get out and have some fun. Spirit of driving! Whattya think, crew?” Hell yeah, we want to party with Chuck.

Gary and Karen have been owners of many “his and hers” Corvettes over the years. The couple have long been driving and loving the Corvette life. Gary’s first Corvette was thirty years ago. It’s been a long trip from his 1985 ‘Vette, but now he has arrived. Lucky number 15 is the 2021 C8 Corvette and it is loaded; the Z51 with 3LT includes mag ride control, front lift, carbon fiber interior trim and more.

Picking up a new car is always an exciting day, but these friends getting their new Corvettes at the same time is definitely special. After a little celebrating, the guys line up and take off into their next adventure.
