Another week, another pair of new C8 world records as these two familiar Corvettes continue to push the envelope.

In recent months, we’ve seen a small handful of folks continue to reset C8 world records in terms of horsepower and quarter-mile times on a seemingly weekly basis. It’s a truly fascinating race to watch, particularly since it’s taking some serious engineering to make happen, as these builders must circumvent the new Corvette’s vault-like ECU to get there. Now, within basically 24 hours of each other, we’ve seen both C8 world records reset once again, and each is documented in a video below.

First up, we have Extreme Turbo Systems’ twin-turbo C8, which was simply out testing recently when it set a new world record with a blazing 9.05-second pass at 159 miles-per-hour. What’s interesting about this particular event is that ETS didn’t even bother to record it, but luckily, a customer captured the historic run on their smartphone.

ETS’ C8 features the aftermarket company’s own twin-turbo kit with a pair of PT6466 huffers, a water-to-air intercooler, an upgraded fuel system, a Motec ECU with a custom tune, an ETS intake manifold, and a prototype clutch. Many of these parts are available to purchase, and we can’t think of a better way to advertise their effectiveness than this wicked-quick run.

Roughly one day later, YouTuber Emelia Hartford posted the latest dyno results for her own twin-turbo C8 build, which has previously run a 9.36-second quarter-mile at 147 mph. After a few tweaks, the fortified Corvette managed to lay down some serious numbers – 1,201 horsepower at the wheels, or roughly 1,400 at the crank, the highest anyone has managed thus far.

This epic run was achieved with 22 pounds of boost, and Hartford notes that the team feels like the car’s LT2 can be turned up even more. They opted to stop and be satisfied with breaking the 1,200 hp mark, however, rather than risk blowing the whole thing up on this particular day. After all, why not save 1,300 horsepower or more for another record-breaking video?

At this point, we’re not surprised to see each of these two Corvettes smash records with each passing week, and we doubt either has reached its absolute limit yet. It’s only a matter of time before we see an 8-second C8, at which point ETS admits it will have its media team present so that it can capture some better quality footage.
