Callaway Corvette C8 Launch Edition will be unveiled this weekend at Corvettes at Carlisle, but here’s a tasty preview.
We’ve known for some time now that Callaway is working on its own, upgraded version of the C8 Corvette. However, that vehicle has been delayed to 2022 as the aftermarket company continues to fine-tune its first mid-engine Corvette offering, though the long-running outfit has the benefit of being one of the only GM is helping in terms of cracking the car’s fortified ECU. Now, the Callaway Corvette C8 Launch Edition, as it’s officially named, has been teased ahead of its official reveal at Corvettes at Carlisle, which is set to take place this upcoming weekend.
To whet our appetites until then, a few design sketches of the Callaway Corvette C8 Launch Edition were just posted on Instagram, giving us an idea of what this special car will look like, at least. Here, we get a good idea of what the car’s upgraded body parts will consist of, starting with a rather massive rear wing – a styling treatment that’s all the rage these days.
From the front to the back, we can see a large front lip, side skirts, a set of forged Callaway wheels, a revised rear bumper design with “Callaway” script, a carbon fiber rear diffuser, and a unique dual-tip exhaust design. Though the interior isn’t teased here, we already know that the Callaway C8 will feature upgrades there as well, in the form of unique door sills, pedals, embroidered floor mats, and the addition of Alcantara trim, at the very least.
In terms of power, Callaway says its special C8 will feature a new air intake and a ported intake manifold, but isn’t spilling the beans on any other potential goodies. Most likely, the tuner’s version of the C8 will feature a supercharger or turbos to take the LT2 to the next level, especially since Callaway’s C7s offered well in excess of 750 boosted horsepower.

Either way, we’ll know a lot more about the Callaway Corvette C8 Launch Edition this weekend, when the car will be unveiled at the tuner’s booth in Carlisle’s Manufacturers Midway. So if you’re on hand for the world’s largest car show, be sure and swing by to check it out in the flesh.
