This Hypersonic Gray C8 Z06 Z07 looks fantastic in real life, if not a little bit understated, if that’s possible.
The C8 Corvette Z06 was just revealed a few weeks ago following years of anticipation, rumors, and leaks. Needless to say, the higher-performance, track-oriented C8 was well worth the wait, and that’s precisely what a lot of folks will be doing as they line up to buy one. Regardless, we’re beginning to see more and more of these cars out on the streets uncovered, and Corvette Forum member Corvette Nut recently spied a Hypersonic Gray C8 Z06 Z07 out driving around and looking simply fantastic.
Unfortunately, the pictures are a bit fuzzy, but they still convey the fact that the C8 Z06 Z07 is going to be one heck of an aggressive-looking car. The revised front fascia and and its massive lip take the C8 Corvette to the next level, visually speaking, a theme that continues down the sides with the large side skirts and redesigned air intakes framing massive wheels and sticky tires. Things only get more aggressive in the rear, however, where we find a large diffuser with four neatly stacked tailpipes, along with an even larger rear wing.
GM’s press photos of the C8 Z06 with the Z07 package showed off a car finished in retina-searing Accelerate Yellow, which accentuates the car’s exotic hypercar looks. However, we must say, Hypersonic Gray looks fantastic adorning the car’s flanks and gives it a much more understated appearance, or, at least as understated as a car with this sort of aggressive styling can be.
Of course, with a screaming dual-overhead-cam, flat-plane crank 5.5-liter LT6 V8 underhood making 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque and revving up to 8,600 rpm, subtlety isn’t in this car’s nature. It’s also 3.6 inches wider than the Stingray, and with all the carbon fiber bodywork present in the Z07 Performance Package, along with carbon fiber wheels and massive Michelin Sport Cup 2 R ZP tires.
Regardless, it’s nice to get a real-world look at the new C8 Z06, as renderings and press photos can often portray vehicles in a bit of an unrealistic light. Thankfully, that isn’t the case with the Z06 Z07, which looks every bit as awesome in real life as it does in fancy, touched-up photos.
