This naturally-aspirated Callaway SuperNatural Corvette was built on an already-cool 40th Anniversary base.

Most all Corvette fans are familiar with Callaway, the company that emerged on the scene decades ago, giving us high-performance Corvettes that rivaled pretty much any supercar on the market at the time. Callaway Corvettes come in a variety of flavors, some more common than others. But this particular Callaway SuperNatural Corvette listed for sale over at Bring a Trailer is certainly one of the most unique we’ve ever come across.

As one might have gathered from the name, this 1993 model Callaway SuperNatural Corvette was indeed fitted with the SuperNatural 400 package. However, just a year after that, the owner decided that wasn’t enough and went back for the SuperNatural 450 upgrade. In addition to that package, this Corvette also happens to be a 40th Anniversary Edition convertible, which makes it even more interesting, and certainly more rare.

The car’s signature Ruby Red Metallic is still there, though it was repainted some years ago. From the outside, however, it just looks like a nice C4, with no real clues as to what’s going on underneath the hood. All of the original 40th Anniversary badging is in place, as are the original wheels and even the interior, which is mostly original save for an R134a air conditioning upgrade. It’s a far cry from what we’re used to seeing from Callaway Corvettes, which isn’t a bad thing by any means.

This C4 has been upgraded where it matters, of course, and that’s under the hood. Callaway modified the car’s LT1 V8 by first punching it out to 6.3 liters of displacement, modified the cylinder heads, gave it a unique tune, and installed an upgraded throttle body and tubular exhaust manifolds. The result of that work was 450 naturally-aspirated horsepower, which is pretty strong for the early 1990s, and undoubtedly fun since the fortified small block is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

This Callaway drop-top is certainly one of the most unique conversions we’ve seen, and the fact that it’s also a 40th Anniversary model makes it even more interesting. Even better, it looks like this cool convertible is going to sell for cheap, so someone is going to get a fun ride for pennies on the dollar.
