1963 Corvette Fuelie Coupe

This beautifully-restored, numbers-matching 1963 Corvette fuelie coupe unsurprisingly has the attention of collectors.

It’s no secret that collector cars have skyrocketed in value in recent years, as is the case with both new and used vehicle prices. But the more popular models are seeing a particularly large boost, including the beloved 1963 Chevy Corvette, the legendary one-year-0nly split-window model. Thus, when you bring a very nice, very rare fuel-injected model to auction, one would expect it to generate a bit of a bidding frenzy, and that’s precisely what’s happening with this 1963 Corvette fuelie coupe up for grabs at Bring a Trailer.

The actual mileage on this gorgeous 1963 Corvette fuelie is unknown, but it is indeed a numbers-matching car with Al Grenning CCAS Certificates, so there’s no denying its authenticity. The Riverside Red beauty is also in phenomenal condition, sporting gorgeous paintwork, perfect chrome, and a set of 15-inch wheels with covers and vintage whitewall tires.

The same goes for the black interior, which is in virtually perfect condition. There aren’t many frills to be found in this particular C2, however, with notable features including a Delco AM/FM radio and power windows, and essentially nothing else that isn’t needed. The odometer currently reads 98 miles, which have been accumulated since the car’s restoration was completed.

Of course, that isn’t a huge concern here given the Corvette’s stellar condition, as well as what lies under the hood – GM’s 327 cubic-inch V8, which is topped off with Rochester mechanical fuel injection. Originally rated to produce 360 horsepower, this fuelie sends that power back to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. All of the numbers match up exactly as a discerning collector would expect, and the cosmetic condition of the mechanicals and underside is something to behold as well.

Following a comprehensive restoration that is pretty much as close as possible to original, this 1963 Corvette fuelie is truly a special find, and bidders obviously recognize that. As of this writing, the car has already crested the $200k mark and doesn’t appear to be letting up with a couple of days left to go. But original motor red on black split-window fuelies don’t exactly grow on trees these days, so is that really much of a surprise?
