Elite Corvettes Causing a Stir at ‘Hooked On ‘Vettes’ Auction
Mecum’s auction includes some of the most rare and most wanted Chevy Corvettes; plus a huge selection of road art and neon signs.
Auctions are often a combination of heaven and hell for Chevrolet Corvette fans. Seeing and hearing these Corvette masterpieces is sure to stoke interest and temptation. On the other hand, these are of the most appealing, groundbreaking, and rare Corvettes ever produced. And that doesn’t run cheap. That internal struggle aside, the “Hooked on ‘Vettes Collection” should not be missed. Mecum is including the collection as part of their Glendale, AZ auction running March 16 to 19.
Thirteen Chevy Corvettes will hit the block, all jaw-dropping rarities offered from the collection of Michael Brown. Brown is including over 200 pieces of automotive art from gas pumps to classic neon signs.

Brown has been a true blue Corvette man since he first saw a 1963 split window Corvette Stingray. So when he started collecting cars in 1985, he had to have that gorgeous car. But looking at a handful of his rides, it is varied and a remarkable vision of the icon’s evolution. We have a little tease of the sports cars.

One of the hottest tickets is the 1954 C1 Corvette Roadster. It is 1-of-4 ’54 ‘Vettes that was finished in super-sleek Black. The whitewall tires and red interior make a sexy, sporty impression.

Brown was taken in by the design and performance of the revolutionary 1963 Corvette. Possibly one of the best looking cars ever made.

Under the hood, a 327/340 HP V8 engine helped give the C2 a faster and more spry performance.
1964 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe
Many things make this 1964 Corvette special. One being that it is 1-of-1,325, 327/375 HP fuel-injected C2.
Additionally, this Corvette earned NCRS Top Flight certification in 2006.
2012 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Centennial Edition
In celebration of Chevy’s 100th anniversary, a special Centennial Edition package was available on all 2012 Corvette models.

Definitely one of Corvette’s best special editions, it had lots of Carbon Fiber. It had lots of aero and tough aesthetics to fit the C6 ZR1. And the 638 HP LS9 supercharged V-8 engine added aggressive appeal.
2020 Chevrolet Corvette Z51
When Corvette made the C8 mid-engine in 2020, they made history. Some could argue it is the best sports car, ever. It certainly has the looks.
With the Z51 Package, this 2020 Corvette has the masterful 6.2L/495 HP V8 engine. Modern amenities include state-of-the-art connectivity and multimedia. With power windows, locks, mirrors and seats; it was a far cry from the first Corvettes.
