Epic Land and Air Battle: Emelia Hartford Pits Her Record-Breaking C8 Against a Chopper!
This 1,200 horsepower C8 is so dominant that it must look to the sky for new challengers. How will this incredible C8 fare against a chopper?
In case you are not one of the nearly 1 million Instagram followers of Emelia Hartford let us give you a quick introduction. She is a social media star who also happens to build some kick ass cars. She was among the first to twin turbo charge the C8 Corvette. And then she used that car to smash some records and is going after more. This incredible car makes about 1,200 horsepower at the tires. With power like that, there are not many cars on the road that can keep up with it. But Hartford wants a new challenge. So, what’s a girl to do? Look to the sky. How about a C8 against a chopper?
On the eBay Motors YouTube channel, a new video in the Between 2 Rides series has just been released. In this video Hartford not only gives a run down of all the modifications that makes her C8 special. Hint: It is a LOT of modifications. But she also finds herself in a rather unusual race. Are racing slicks and huge power enough to hand the victory to the C8 against a chopper? There is only one way to find out.
Twin Turbo C8
First, we need to talk a little bit more about this amazing Corvette that makes almost triple the power of the stock car. It does this because of a modification list as long as your arm. Some of the highlights include a Dodson Motorsport Stage 2 dual clutch transmission. A set of Forgeline wheels are wrapped in Mickey Thompson racing slicks. The effective and beautiful Carbon pTR Intake is also deployed here. And of course, a set of Precision Turbos. There is more, but you are going to have to watch the video to see the full list.
Hartford vs. Stock C8
Just for laughs a quarter mile drag race between the Hartford C8 and a stock C8 is staged. Remember a stock C8 is a damn quick car. But the Hartford car is a twin turbo charged monster. In probably the least surprising statement ever, the modified C8 beats the tires off the stock C8. You would expect it to win, but the margin of victory is immense. It is big enough to make you think that maybe Hartford can win even against a helicopter.
Main Event
C8 against a chopper. Let’s go! We should state for the record that we are not helicopter experts and the exact model of chopper is not disclosed. So, we can’t quote you acceleration times and top speed for the aircraft. But it is a freaking helicopter. And to tip the scales in the favor of the chopper, it is not starting from a hover. The C8 is starting from a dig. The chopper crosses the starting line already moving forward. But that C8 can launch! So, it stays within a couple car lengths for the first half of the race. And then in true Fast and Furious fashion the Corvette just seems to find another gear. It hunkers down and rockets past the chopper like it was sitting still. Very cool.
Ground Beats Air
Say what you want about the type of chopper but there is no denying that this C8 Corvette is crazy fast. You also can’t deny that spending eight minutes watching this video is time well spent. Come on, it is a C8 against a chopper. When will you ever get to see that again? It is amazing to think about just how fast you can get these new Corvettes to go. What do you think Hartford should take on next?
