2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1: Everything You Need to Know

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Coupe with ZTK Performance Package Rear End

The 2025 Zr1’s new twin-turbo, 5.5L flat-plane-crank LT7 engine makes more power than two LS7 engines. Top speed is over 215 mph.

Today, GM took the covers off the most powerful and fastest Corvette of all time, the 2025 ZR1. We’ll have a lot more coverage to offer over the next few days. But instead of writing up a mix of facts and opinions, this post is designed to give you all of the facts and none of the fluff or PR razzle-dazzle, outside of a few fun facts. At this time, we’re still waiting to hear about official pricing and whether or not there is going to be a future, top-of-the-line ZORA model. For now, at least, the King of the Hill is back for 2025 and better than ever along with the “most powerful V8 ever produced in America from an auto manufacturer.”

Engine

  • LT7, 5.5L, twin-turbocharged DOHC flat-plane crank V8
  • Horsepower: 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm

  • Upgraded inner and outer input shafts
  • Shot-peened gears (increases gear capacity & strengths)
  • “Refined” final drive
  • Revised oil management to “support increased vehicle longitudinal and lateral capability”
  • Increased control valves to accommodate the higher required clutch clamp load for LT7

Speed & Performance

  • Top Speed: Over 215 mph (GM estimated)
  • Quarter mile: Sub 10 seconds (GM estimated)
  • 0-60 mph: N/A (Editor’s note: like the Z06, probably not quicker than the E-Ray, but unclear at the moment)
  • 80 mph to 200 mph and back to 80 mph: 24.5 seconds (22% quicker than the C7 Corvette ZR1; 53% quicker than the C6 Corvette ZR1)

Standard ZR1 Features

  • Magnetic Ride suspension (two versions — ZR1 and ZTK)
  • Customer-adjustable short and tall wickers
  • Carbon-fiber front splitter, rocker moldings, side intake with integrated brake cooling, and front underwing with stall gurney deflectors

  • Engineered for “increased durability and reduced brake component temperatures”
  • Front rotors: 15.7″ (400mm)
  • Rear rotors: 5.4″ (390mm)

Body / Paint / Colors

  • Split-window is available in exposed weave or body color, adds functional heat extraction (coupe only)
  • Carbon fiber roof (coupe & convertible)
  • ZR1-specific aluminum wheels, available in four finishes, including Edge Blue
  • ZR1-specific optional carbon fiber wheels
  • Exterior paint options: shared with the rest of the 2025 lineup
  • New for 2025: Competition Yellow, Hysteria Purple, and Sebring Orange
  • ZR1 exclusive optional blue brake calipers and seatbelts

  • Available Blue stitching (ZR1 exclusive???)

Fun Facts

  • 2025 model year
  • Production starts in 2025
  • First split-window Corvette since 1963
  • First Corvette with a boost gauge (or a factory turbocharger)
  • Carbon fiber aero available on the standard ZR1 chassis, not just ZTK
  • Largest front rotors in Corvette history
  • The most powerful V8 ever produced in America from an auto manufacturer
  • ZTK Performance Package was tested at the Nürburgring, Road Atlanta, and Virginia International Raceway
  • Clocked a faster peak speed than the production C7 ZR1 at GM’s Milford Proving Ground’s MRC test track
  • Engineers clocked a sub-10-second quarter-mile time on the Corvette ZR1’s first launch.
  • All four test drivers clocked over 200 mph peak speed on their very first laps at the Nürburgring with ease
