Many Corvette enthusiasts will recognize the famous Corvette ZR1. But did you know
there was also a Corvette ZR2?

That’s right. In 1971, Zora Duntov wanted a new car, so he cleverly devised the ZR2
option pack. It consisted of the ZR1’s Rock-Crusher M22 4-speed, bigger brakes, aluminum radiator and F41 heavy-duty suspension. It also brought the LS6 454-cid V8 to the party.

Though the 454 LS6 had been de-tuned for use with unleaded fuel, the ZR2 package
substituted a special cam & carburetor, resulting in 425 horsepower. However, many
feel that figure was about 100HP less than it  produced.
Zora Racer indeed.
