Five down, three to go until the retrieval process is complete for “The Great Eight,” the name given to the coveted Corvettes swallowed by the sinkhole.

Workers pulled the one-millionth Corvette and the severely damaged 1984 PPG Pace Car from the hole yesterday at the National Corvette Museum in Kentucky.

The construction team now will focus its efforts on stabilizing the hole before attempting to pull out the remaining Corvettes as the interest in the recovery process continues to grow. Last night, NBC News aired a segment on the sinkhole disaster and the passion behind removing “The Great Eight”.

It’s a must-see for any Corvette fan. See it below, then check out the raw footage of the PPG Pace Car’s removal.
