Prepare your tear ducts: video of the 1993 ZR-1 Spyder being pulled out of the sinkhole at the National Corvette Museum hit the Web last night, and it’s painful to watch.
The sixth Corvette of “the Great Eight” to be removed, and the first of three ‘Vettes buried deep in the Kentucky debris, looks pretty mangled and twisted. Even the National Corvette Museum’s YouTube posting describes the car’s recovery as “very sad”, which is putting it mildly.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the remaining two Corvettes suffered less damage, and that GM remains committed to restoring all the cars hurt in the disaster. According to the National Corvette Museum, the ZR-1 Spyder will be saved.
