OPTIMA Presents Corvettes of the Week: A Winning Pair
Corvette Forum members love to talk trash on me because of my love for the C4 Corvette … particularly model years 1992 to 1994. I realize generation four was not a banner era for the brand; it’s just that my dad’s black ’92 Corvette Convertible was the car that made me the ‘Vette fan I am today, and sentimentality is a hell of a drug.
I think the fourth generation would be remembered fondly if the ZR-1 were the only variant of Corvette produced in that era. At about $60,000 in the 1990s, it was an expensive car, but it was a formidable player on the world stage competing with the likes of the Porsche 911 Turbo. I dream of owning a C4 ZR-1. Forum member “We Gone” (a.k.a. Steve) is living my dream … times two. Pictured above, the blue car is his 1991 ZR-1, and he just bought the yellow one, which he says is “one of 13 Competition Yellow ZR-1s built in ’93, and one of only two with the white interior.”
Steve is celebrating more than 30 years of Corvette ownership, and during that time, he’s owned 16 Corvettes. Now that’s someone who’s living a good life.
Head to the forum to congratulate Steve on his “new” classic.
