OPTIMA Presents Corvette of the Week: The Silver Blade

2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 3LT Convertible in Blade Silver Metallic Home

The C7 Corvette is a sharply styled car; it’s very blade-influenced, if you will. Among all the colors in the C7 palette, Blade Silver Metallic does the best job of diffusing light across the Corvette’s exterior surfacing to really play up on the body’s seemingly blade-influenced strakes and creases. If the first-generation (E85) BMW Z4 had “flame surfacing”, the C7 Corvette has “blade surfacing”, and that is delightfully apparent when the Corvette’s exterior is slathered in this sexy shade of gray. Perhaps that’s why Chevy calls it Blade Silver.

In addition to the blade surfacing, the entire C7 convertible looks like a blade ready to be thrusted into the heart of the competition. What a weapon.

Corvette - America's Star-Spangled Sports Car (Benley Publishers)

In addition to winning the coveted title of “Corvette of the Week”, Dave also wins a copy of Corvette – America’s Star-Spangled Sports Car – The Complete History – 1953-1982 by Karl Ludvigsen. This is a book jam-packed with Corvette information that can take any ‘Vette expert’s knowledge to new heights. Don’t believe me? That’s fine, I’ll just let the numbers do the talking: 52 chapters, 784 pages and 989 photos, illustrations and diagrams. Try not to be a Corvette guru after reading this.

Enjoy the book, Dave, and good luck with the sale.
