The upcoming 2023 Corvettes at Carlisle will celebrate Le Mans’ centennial with a special display of vintage race cars.

Corvette and Le Mans history have long been intertwined, with America’s sports car becoming a common sight at the iconic French circuit over the past decades. The Corvette has also racked up its fair share of wins at Le Mans over the years, so it doesn’t really come as a surprise that the 2023 Corvettes at Carlisle show will be paying tribute to Le Mans on its 100th anniversary since the very first race took place there way back in 1923.

Le Mans hasn’t quite hosted a race in every one of those 100 years, but this is still a monumental occasion worth celebrating. And since the Corvette has appeared in many of those races, the 2023 Corvettes at Carlisle offers up the perfect venue for such a celebration. As such, organizers will have a variety of historic Corvette racers on hand when next year’s gathering takes place on August 24-26 at the Carlisle, Pennsylvania Fairgrounds.

The Le Mans exhibit will be a part of the annual Chip’s Choice display, which is located in Building T. The display is presented in memory of and in tribute to Chip Miller, co-founder of Carlisle Events and National Corvette Museum Hall of Famer, who passed away back in 2005. This year’s Chip’s Choice display will consist of around a dozen cars, each of which competed in Le Mans at some point, including the famous #3 Cunningham Corvette, which took first in its class in 1960 and is now owned by Irwin Kroiz, among others that aren’t quite as common on the show car circuit.

“The largest, most prestigious race in the world is the 24 Hours of Le Mans,” said Lance Miller of Carlisle Events. “With the 100-year anniversary upon us, we felt it was appropriate to feature various Corvettes of all generations that raced at Le Mans. We are looking forward to celebrating the 100th in true Corvette fashion; with a special display at Corvettes at Carlisle.”
