Photo Shoot: C7 Corvette Stingray Versus Ferrari 599

I have an unbridled addiction to low slung, powerful coupes. From Corvettes and Vipers to Aston Martins and Lamborghinis, I love them all. For the last several years, one of my favorites has been the Ferrari 599. With its stunning Pinnifarina styling, coupled with interesting touches like the flying buttress c-pillars for downforce, I thought it was one of the coolest and best-looking cars in the world.

But Corvette Forum member 1KULC7’s recent photo shoot changes my mind entirely. He has a red C7 convertible parked up next to a similarly red Ferrari 599, and the 599 just looks dated, fat, and boring compared to the new muscular shell that drapes over the Stingray’s beautiful bones.

From a simple shape and profile perspective, the two cars share a lot of traits, but the 599 is just too smooth and soft. It doesn’t look fast enough, exciting enough, or aggressive enough to make me stop staring at the C7.

Ferrari, I love you, but you just can’t beat America at this one. The C7 is hands down the better car, from every angle, as you can see in the photos. But it’s not just the Ferrari, the C7 is better than most modern supercars. Check out the video below of the C7 along with a pile of high-end exotics and tell me it doesn’t look the best.
