Ol’ Blue Devil Corvette Still One of Our Favorites

Anytime there’s chance to watch any footage of a C6 Corvette ZR1 in action, we’re all in.

No disrespect to the new Z06, but the legendary Blue Devil remains one of our all-time favorite high-powered models in the line-up. I mean, what’s not to like about hearing that LS9 6.2-liter supercharged V8 roaring on a track at top speed?

That said, we certainly would prefer a more even match-up than what we get in this head-to-head battle in the 2010 video below posted by GTBOARD.com, which was recently highlighted in a GM Authority report.

Pitting the 638-horsepower ZR1 against the 806-horsepower Koenigsegg CCR seems to suggest that someone might have been taking all the craze over the ZR1 a bit personal. It’s hardly what I’d call a fair comparison.

Even with a more seasoned driver at the wheel, we doubt the famed Blue Devil would have fared much better against the CCR’s 4.7-liter twin-supercharged V8. But it certainly has no bearing on our love for the ZR1.

Yup, ol’ Blue Devil’s classic status is still intact.
