Callaway Competition Unveils C7 Corvette GT3-R Race Car
I’m not going to go on record here and say that this is the most menacing looking C7 setup I’ve ever seen. But if there’s another one out there, I’d love to see the photos.
Developed by Callaway Competition, the company’s winged C7 GT3-R is about as intimidating as Corvettes come. The carbon fiber race-car has been in development for two years, and is set to make its racing debut next year in the 2016 motorsports season, as highlighted in a recent Motor Authority report.

The C7 GT3-R is powered by General Motor’s 6.2-liter V-8 that puts out 600 horsepower mated to an X-Trac six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifters. And given the rich racing history tied to the Callaway name, we’re betting there are a few more specialty features packed into the race car, which should make it a thrilling competitor next season.
Of course, if the idea of simply watching the C7 GT3-R roar around the track doesn’t excite you, you could always put in an order for one of your own.
