Corvette C6 Z06 Schools BMW 435i at the Strip

If you don’t have a V8 in your car, going up against a C6 Z06 is most likely not to go in your favor. We’ve seen it countless times here: Z06s going stupidly fast down the strip, even with not all that many mods. The car that falls for the bait contender this time is a newer BMW 435i, with the Bavarian’s quite excellent N55 straight-six turbo engine. With things as they are for tuners right now, producing more power from a turbocharged car is a walk in the park. Dump more fuel, turn up the boost a notch, and viola: gobs of go.

But the Z06 flat out creams this BMW. There’s no denying it, but you also should have expected it. Though we don’t have any times to go off of, we can use the very scientific method of counting the seconds from the video, and by that theory, 10s seems pretty reasonable to surmise. The BMW’s state of tune is unknown, but as a baseline, its stock 1/4 mile time is in the mid-13s. Looks like there’s some more tinkering to be done.
