Are Chrome Rims an Old Man’s Favorite?
Do the gray-haired enthusiasts among us have a specific taste for chrome wheels? Does that taste harken back to the good ol’ days when chrome was festooned on every conceivable part of an American car? We can beat a dead horse here by making assumptions, or we can conduct a scientific poll to see if the rumors are true!
In this poll on our forums, member Nuclearranger asked if those over or under the age of 35 liked chrome, didn’t care, or didn’t like the shiny wheels. After more than 400 votes, the outcome is quite predictable.
Most of the voters — 210 of them making up 50.36% of the vote — are over 35 and prefer chrome rims. That’s over double the amount of folks in that age bracket that specifically do not like chrome. Looking at the numbers for those under 35, and that trend is reversed, with the majority leaning to those who prefer their wheels painted, powder-coated, or anything but chrome. Those under the age of 35 didn’t vote as much in the poll, however. Regardless of the way they voted, there was only 36 of them in total.
Anyone surprised?
