The 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1: How Much Power Is Too Much?

Can you ever have too much power in a Corvette?

Well, as we’ve discussed here before, that probably all depends on who you ask. And more importantly, who’s doing the driving.

The question was actually brought to our attention again after reading through a Motor Authority report about the forthcoming Corvette ZR-1, which is sure to have more output than the Z06, likely putting it in the 700-horsepower or more range.

Crazy, right? And what a way to close out the era of the C7, which it appears that the higher-performance ZR-1 will do when it’s unveiled as a 2018 model. We’re betting there’ll be a lot of Corvette fans clamoring to get their hands on one of these when they go on sale.

Still, it does make you wonder: exactly how much power is too much power in a Corvette? 650 horsepower? 750 hp? Or more?
