You’re Looking at the Worlds Most Powerful 8-speed C7 Corvette

It won’t take long before someone surpasses 1,312 horsepower, but as far as we know, this is the most powerful C7 Corvette with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Built by Late Model Racecraft, this car is showcasing three exceptional OEM parts that were left on the car for this build. Firstly, the stock ECU has been kept. That’s not totally out of this world. However, keeping the stock injectors is considerably more impressive. And to top that all off, the A8 transmission seems to handle the power quite well without turning into a pile of metal shavings.

Given that so much is left on the table in terms of hardware, I wouldn’t be surprised to see LMR dig deeper into this project to eke out higher numbers. It won’t be long before other tuners propagate the thought of beating 1,312 horsepower. We’ve seen some pretty wild C6 drag racers that put down as much, if not more horsepower, so I suspect that this will be a short-lived record. Speaking of which, LMR is taking this thing to the strip soon. What do you think it’ll put down for numbers?
