Most Powerful Corvettes

With each passing year, it feels like the list of most powerful Corvettes is growing. Here are the top ten in order!

Editor’s Note: Our Top 10 Most Powerful Corvettes of All Time list was first published in 2021, but we’ve adjusted it and update it everytime GM announces another spectacular Corvette…

The Chevrolet Corvette has always offered big power compared to the competition, but over the course of the past two decades, the Corvette has seen a massive spike in peak power. And so, today, we bring you the top 10 most powerful Corvettes of all time.

This list only includes models that were built by Chevrolet, so this doesn’t include aftermarket tuning package. Also, to streamline the list, we haven’t included packages that apply to multiple models. For example, the GT1 Championship Edition and the Centennial Edition models from the C6 generation are not included. While they each offered big power, those packages were available across multiple models. Also, we haven’t included the “base” C7 or C8 because we included the Z51 versions, which have slightly more power than the Stingray without the Z51 upgrades.

We will start with the car that ranks 10th on our list and work our way to the number one most powerful Corvette of all time.

10 – 2014 Stingray Z51

When the C7 Corvette was introduced, there were plenty of changes from the previous generation. For the first time in decades, the Stingray name reappeared on the base car. Unlike past generations that had launched with an engine that had been carried over from the prior, the C7 Stingray was introduced with an entirely new engine family. The new LT V8 engine series began with the LT1, which offered 455 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque in its basic trim. However, if you added the Z51 package, the active exhaust system increased the output to 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque.

The 2014 Corvette Stingray Z51 in stock form is able to scoot from a stop to 60 in just 3.8 seconds, making this the first “base car” to get to 60 in less than four seconds. It will also run the quarter mile in 12-seconds flat with a speed of 119 miles per hour. This would be the standard output of the C7 Stingray through the end of the generation in 2019.
