Red Calipers or Bust for the C7 Corvette

Several weeks ago, I asked your opinion about a red chrome wrapped C7, which I thought was a little overdone. But what about factory options and colors? Torch Red is one of the Corvette’s most iconic and popular colors. But if you picked the factory option of red calipers, would it be a little bit too much color? Turns out, not at all.

Discussions about this topic have popped up on Corvette Forum, and red calipers seemed to be one of the most supported cosmetic options available on the C7. Every no vote was out-weighted eight times by a yes vote. So clearly the popularity of red calipers is considered a must-have by many.

Colors don’t always match that well, and as some have pointed out, the red stoppers don’t always work with every color. Torch Red looks great, but the yellow, maroon, and even green colors just contrast in an unusual way. Black or silver calipers end up looking the best in those instances.
