Corvettes and puppies may not seem like similar entities, but they both have at least one thing in common.

We came across an interesting Corvette Forum thread recently, asking if members purchased their C7 simply to attract women. As male car enthusiasts, the thought of having a nice car to get noticed by women is always there. The same goes for the opposite sex. Women also like to have nice cars, and let’s be real, gentlemen: a woman with a sweet ride is definitely a plus, right? “Walt White Coupe’s” first response to the original post is what really got things going, though. He noted that the proper way to attract women is not to buy a C7, but rather a cute dog.

So let’s go right into it. Say you decided to get a C7 over a puppy. Not only is having a C7 Corvette already pretty cool, but many women do love a man with a sports car. And if you opted for the manual gearbox, that’s extra brownie points. We can’t explain it, but from our experience, women sitting shotgun tend to become impressed while men row through the gears.

Pro Tip: Put her hand on the shift knob, hold her hand, and shift gears together. Trust us.

You may not have a cute little puppy to score you a date, but at least you have a means of transportation that isn’t a Geo Metro. Let’s also note that a majority of women are familiar with the Corvette. Try asking a girl about the McLaren 650S, and chances are lower that she’ll be familiar with the exotic supercar. Some women have absolutely no clue what a McLaren is, but they sure as heck know a Corvette when they see one.

Now, let’s switch things up. Say you don’t own a C7, but you do have a cute puppy. Well, if you put a C7 and a puppy next to each other, 9 times out of 10 (maybe even 10 out of 10), the girl is going to go straight for the adorable little pup. For whatever reason, the sight of a puppy brings immediate happiness, even during the darkest of times. Seeing a C7 doing a burnout is awesome, but being in the presence of a cute puppy is just going to be the deal-breaker.
