Stolen ‘Vette recovered, but it sustained significant damage.

A 1977 Corvette stolen in Tennessee has been recovered, but it’s going to take quite a bit of work to get the classic sports car back on the road.

The ‘Vette, which was stolen more than a week ago, has sustained a lot of damage following the theft, including a twisted frame, cracked fiberglass, and a blown engine.

A number of parts were also stripped from the car, which was found abandoned in a parking lot. There was even drug paraphernalia found in the Corvette, apparently left by the thief.

According to Smokeybarn.com, the classic Corvette was stolen when the owner was visiting an insurance agent and left the keys in the car. Apparently, a man was seen walking around the Corvette, then he hopped in and drove away.

Needless to say, the owner of the ‘Vette has had a tough time coping with the entire ordeal. And before some here start bashing the man for leaving his keys in the Corvette, consider this – the fact that you decide to leave the front door to your house unlocked doesn’t give a complete stranger the right to waltz in and take a nap on your couch.

Well, at least, we wouldn’t imagine that it would. Then again, some people have a more open-door policy than others.

Police are currently investigating the theft of the Corvette. They believe there could possibly be two people involved.
