There’s no perfect science behind it, but 2023 Corvette Z06 allocations aren’t really following a set pattern at the moment.

As most fans are painfully aware, 2023 Corvette Z06 allocations are few and far between, mostly because there just aren’t that many copies of the high-revving machine to go around. This has led to rampant markups and tidy profits being made by both dealers and individuals keen to flip their fancy new sports cars, of course, but perhaps the more interesting news revolves around how the dealer allocation process works. Originally, we were told that dealers who had previously sold the most 3LT-trimmed Stingrays would receive more 2023 Corvette Z06 locations, but a new spreadsheet created by CorvetteForum member Smithers sheds a little bit of doubt on that idea.

The idea behind this particular spreadsheet is rather simple – Smithers collected window stickers from vehicles produced at the Bowling Green plant, stored that information in a database, and then tracked where those cars go. He even created a website called C8Tracker.com to display all of this data, but the information contained on this spreadsheet hasn’t yet been posted there – only in the CorvetteForum forums, for now at least.

Regardless, there’s a lot to take in from this raw data, including the fact that there seems to be little rhyme or reason behind 2023 Corvette Z06 allocations. The first round of allocations showed that some dealers received both one Stingray and one Z06, while others were delivered a number of base cars versus just one Z06. Overall, that percentage comes in at around 3-9 percent, though there are several outliers as well.

One such example is Eddy’s Chevrolet in Wichita, Kansas, which took delivery of four Z06s and just three Stingrays. It’s certainly possible that 3LT sales factored into these deliveries as previously stated, though Smithers admittedly didn’t account for that in his database. It’s also worth noting that there’s no real way to track actual allocations aside from calling every dealer in the U.S. and hoping they’ll share that information, so this is the next best thing, at least.

Also interesting is the fact that the spreadsheet shows that a total of 1,422 2023 Z06s have been built thus far, which is a low but fairly predictable number, given the model’s limited run this particular model year. Smithers plans on updating the spreadsheet regularly, so we’ll be sure and keep an eye on it to see how or if things change moving forward!
