Are you familiar with Turo? Turo is an app that lets you act like a rental car agency. In other words, you can get people to pay you for borrowing your car. Whether they need it to move furniture, see the city, or get by while their car is in for repairs, Turo allows you to make money by renting out your car when you’re not using it.

Hagerty, best known for offering premium collector car insurance, has recently purchased a company called Classics & Exotics. That company offered a twist on the ride-sharing concept by letting users rent classic and exotic cars to other car enthusiasts.

Hagerty is going to call its version of the service DriveShare. Hagerty plans on improving the service by doing what it does best — offering insurance and roadside assistance. Plus, being attached to the Hagerty name won’t hurt, either.

While Turo will allow you to rent cars for as low as $20 a day, expect to pay substantially more for the privilege of driving a pampered classic through DriveShare. Hagerty will have you covered with 24/7 roadside assistance. If you’re on the renting end, you can rest assured that Hagerty has your back with up to $1 million in insurance coverage.

While the thought of letting someone else drive your precious Corvette might be terrifying, we’re sure there’s a market for folks who don’t mind letting someone else take the wheel.

Who knows? Maybe a day or two with a classic Corvette will convert a few enthusiasts. There’s no such thing as too many Corvette fans!
