Here’s What It’s Like to Be Shot at in a Bulletproof C8 Corvette
This bulletproof C8 Corvette clearly provides some amazing protection against prospective attackers, as we can see over and over here.
Bulletproof cars aren’t exactly a common sight on the roads in the U.S., but they are certainly more prevalent in other parts of the world, where politicians and other famous folks face real dangers on a daily basis. For them, having that extra protection while they tool around town can quite literally mean the difference between life and death, as we’ve seen time and time again, tragically. But few know what it’s like to actually be shot at while riding around in one of these machines, which is what makes this video from Edwin Sarkissian so darn interesting, as we get a first-person view of that experience inside of a bulletproof C8 Corvette.
This bulletproof C8 Corvette was built by the folks at Armormax, which offers a pretty wide berth of models to suit all tastes. The Corvette seems like an unconventional choice, however – though we suppose that some folks want to be able to enjoy a sports car without having to worry about being shot. Sarkissian is from Iran, and his grandfather – who owns the cars that his grandson routinely shoots up – is a rather wealthy man, so that pretty much explains why he insists on bulletproofing all of his personal rides.
This particular bulletproof C8 Corvette utilizes not only tougher glass that’s resistant to small arms, but also armored doors and a fortified roof, providing total 360-degree protection. While it’s obviously not a great idea to test this kind of stuff out in the real world, Sarkissian is confident enough from his experience shooting up these cars that he’ll be protected while sitting in the driver’s seat.
Obviously, we shouldn’t have to tell you not to try this at home, because you shouldn’t. But clearly, this crew has zero fear, because they don’t bother to start out with some pistol – but rather, an AK, which fails to breach the windshield at a relatively close distance. Sarkissian notes that it was obviously pretty loud inside the cabin, but otherwise, this is a pretty impressive result, particularly after he hops out and proceeds to shoot the windshield with a wide variety of firearms chambered in various calibers.
While there are some glass fragments inside the cabin after this long period of sustaining fire, it’s clear that this setup is more than capable of saving lives, and in the process of this exercise, Sarkissian also gave Armormax some pretty impressive advertising, to boot.
