Race Proven Motorsports feeds nitrous to make ‘Blue Bully’ the quickest Corvette Z06 ever with stock rods, pistons, and crank.
Drag racing milestones change constantly, but one thing remains constant: A fast Corvette is a fast Corvette. To wit, this C6 Z06 just became the first car with a stock LS7 bottom end to break 9.00 seconds in the quarter-mile.
As you might expect, the “Blue Bully” Z06 belongs to one of the most experienced LS-tuning shops, Race Proven Motorsports. The Delaware shop has turned out some seriously fast cars. This C6 simply adds to a deep roster of beastly fast race cars from RPM.
BigKleib34 caught the Z06 chasing that stock-block record at Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, Maryland. Cecil County hosts some of the biggest doorslammer races in the country, including the YellowBullet Nationals. However, RPM found the track prep a little lacking. Considering this was the end of the season and it looks like a cold day, that’s not too surprising.
Nevertheless, they hung with the conditions and still ran an 8.975 without a good 60-foot time. That means there’s plenty more left in the car, even after an 8.950 from adding nitrous at lower RPM.
This newest stock bottom-end record complements another LS-powered milestone in November. At the Street Car Super Nationals in Las Vegas, Team North from Canada ran their Pro Stock-chassis GMC Sonoma to an incredible 7.16 seconds on a turbocharged 5.3-liter truck engine with a stock bottom end.

As you likely already know, the LS architecture has changed the way we think about fast. The pace of change in drag racing means someone may come up with a quicker stock bottom-end LS7 run soon enough.
However, we know that Race Proven Motorsports don’t rest on their laurels. We expect they’ll have an even more potent setup on the car for 2018 that will lay waste to their current record.
