1965 Corvette C2 Convertible Hardtop Manual Transmission Red Interior Corvetteforum.com

It’s not perfect, but this partially-restored C2 Corvette is ready to drive.

Right off the bat, we have to tell you: If you’re looking for a numbers matching Corvette to win the concours with, this isn’t it. Instead, what this car has is a number of subtle tweaks and upgrades that make this C2 convertible ready to drive, and maybe even daily drive.

Let’s break down the basics. This California car spent much of its life out West before being taken to Missouri by the current owner. Under the hood is a factory replacement 327 V8, which is backed with a 4-speed manual transmission. Since this is originally a California car, rust doesn’t appear to be an issue, though there is some fading on some interior pieces.

That instrumentation hasn’t been touched or updated, though several other items on the car have been. This white on red convertible was originally a Nassau Blue car with a blue vinyl interior. Why the repaint and reupholstering was done we don’t know. It comes courtesy of the previous owner. Though, the condition of the interior and exterior seems solid, other than some general wear and tear.

That red interior also houses some modern conveniences. There is an upgraded sound system includes a 6-disc CD changer and amplifier, and the ash tray has been converted to connect with an iPhone. Additionally, this convertible comes with both a hard top and soft top in working condition.

The odometer reads 94,476 miles, which is believed to be accurate. So, a lot of non-original parts and color change make this C2 well-kept, but not ready to earn it’s NCRS Top Flight award. That’s alright by us, because, as the ad shows, this car is a driver. That 4-speed manual and 327 combo loves to rev, and this C2 could be your next ride.
