Late Model Racecraft C7 Corvette Z06 Hits the Dyno
Relatively simple upgrades add about 110 rear wheel horsepower to the Corvette Z06.
The C7 Corvette Z06 is a beast, with the supercharged LT4 V8 delivering 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque in stock form. This output makes it one of the quickest, fastest and most powerful factory-build Vettes of all time, but for some people, that still isn’t enough. That is where Late Model Racecraft comes into play, with their LMR750 package for the Z06 tacking on over a hundred wheel horsepower.
The video above from the Late Model Racecraft YouTube channel shows the LMR750 package being installed on a new Corvette Z06, followed by a blast on the dyno and a look at the numbers before and after the upgrades.
LMR750
The video begins with technicians from Late Model Racecraft installing the LMR750 package on a C7 Corvette Z06. It is hard to tell from the video what all goes into the build, so we got a full list of upgrades on the company’s website.
For $7,999.99, the LMR750 package adds stainless steel long-tube headers, an 8.8-inch supercharger damper pulley, an LT1/LT4 dry sump damper, new plug and wires, a 160-degree thermostat, a cold air induction setup and a custom engine tune, along with the other items needed to install the upgrades. The package is called the LMR750 package because it is designed to lift the engine output to 750 horsepower, or in other words, this package is slated to add 100 horsepower.
As it turns out, that number is a bit low, as the LMR750 packages adds more than a hundred horsepower at the wheels.
LMR750 in Action
After the install is complete, we get a look at the modified Corvette Z06 outside of the shop, followed by a clip of the car blasting down the street at speeds nearing 125 miles per hour.
Finally, the LMR750 Corvette hits the Dynojet dyno with impressive results. As the dyno sheet at the end of the video shows, in stock form, this C7 Z06 laid down 510 horsepower and 573 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels. After the LMR750 package was installed, the output increased to 621 horsepower and 714 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels.
In other words, the LMR750 package added 111 horsepower and 141 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels.
