One of just 1,186, this super-clean ‘Vette with  just 4,200 miles on the odometer is a rare gem.

The final model year for the C5 Corvette Z06 was 2004, so it has been some 14 years since the last LS6-powered Vette rolled off of the assembly line. Over the course of those 14 years, many C5 Z06 coupes have been modified, raced and generally abused, making it hard to find one in good condition. It is even harder to find a C5 Corvette Z06 in like-new condition, but while flipping through the Corvettes listed on eBay.com, we came across a crazy-clean 2004 Z06 with just 4,200 miles on the odometer.

Vehicle Introduction

This 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 was listed on eBay by user nred_c_lyhwi9, who is selling this LS6-powered sports car from a “private collection.” Like all C5 Z06 coupes, this car has the 5.7-liter LS6 V8 and a bespoke 6-speed manual transmission, along with “all the options that the Z06 Corvettes came with from the factory”. This includes a CD player, leather seats, air conditioning, cruise control, power locks, power windows, power seat adjustment and all of the key safety features available on the C5.

This Corvette has spent its entire life in California and the seller claims that it has never been rained on or been out in any sort of bad weather. As a result of the careful selection of when the car left the garage, the underside is as clean as the black paint. At 4,200 miles, this Z06 has only been driven an average of 300 miles each year, which is pretty sad, as it is really never been enjoyed, but that is great for whoever buys this flawless C5.

2004 Z06 Details

The seller points out that this 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is rare in such great shape, but overall, this car is rare as Vettes go. According to VetteFacts.com, there were more than 34,000 Corvettes sold in 2004 with only 5,683 Z06 coupes and of those, only 1,186 were painted black.

With only 1,186 cars painted this popular color, they were rare to begin with, but over the last 14 years, it is a safe bet that many of those cars have been transitioned to a less-than-new condition. That makes this car that much more unique, so the current leading bid of $30,000 looks like a great deal right now, considering that the winning bidder is essentially getting a brand new 2004 Corvette Z06.
