Outrageous, over-the-top Corvette clearly impresses this stock C7-owning YouTuber. But was it really worth the cost?

Modding cars is much like taking a blind dive into a deep, dark rabbit hole. What starts out as cheap and simple parts swaps can quickly escalate into a full-on build you’ll be emptying your bank account to finish. But when you’re talking about a car like the C7 Corvette, one that’s pretty darn good in stock form, is all of that really necessary? YouTuber TheSupercarSuspects was wondering that himself, so he decided to compare his stock C7 to a bonkers, $100k build in this interesting video.

As you might imagine by that insane price tag, the built Corvette has undergone some serious surgery. But a large portion of that cost went to visual mods, including a bunch of carbon fiber body panels. Joining the eyeball assault is a wild paint job complete with all sorts of custom graphics. One thing’s for sure, this isn’t the Corvette for introverts. Heck, to be honest, it isn’t the Corvette for most anyone save for its rather eccentric owner.

If all of that wasn’t enough, this, um, “built” Corvette also has a button inside the cabin that apparently shoots flames out of the exhaust. He claims that his car is stock under the hood, but in rather tongue-in-cheek fashion. Regardless, the owner of our stock C7 is clearly impressed. He also expresses his desire to mod his car in a similar fashion. Or *gasp* slap Z06 or Grand Sport body parts on his base car.

Personally, we’d much rather spend that kind of cash on things like performance. Or you could just go ahead and buy something like, say, a ZR1. But that’s the beauty of our beloved hobby, you’re free to spend your money however you please. Even if it is to build perhaps the gaudiest Corvette in existence!
