Insane Carbon Fiber Bodied C6 Z06 Hits the Dyno

We can’t tell if this is an intricate wrap, or the real deal, but this carbon fiber-clad Z06 sounds gnarly thanks to a cam upgrade.

Late Model Racecraft sure does seem to be busy, as this YouTube video from their channel shows. It seems like multiple, fast Corvettes are rolling through for upgrade packages and dyno tunes, every week. It also seems like they get some pretty wild cars in the shop, like this carbon fiber C6 Z06.

Now, we aren’t sure if this is a wrap, or the real deal, but it looks wild, none the less. Of course, Corvette diehards out there know that the C6Z was revolutionary in it’s intensive use of lightweight materials throughout the car, like magnesium, aluminum and, of course, carbon fiber. While OEM fiber glass composite panels are already quite light, one can’t help but wonder how light this particular Z06 really is.

Ultimately, the carbon fiber bodywork is secondary to the wicked exhaust note coming from the cammed LS7 under the hood. This car has received the LMR630 package, which references the power rating. The main power upgrades from said package are an upgraded intake and manifold, full catless exhaust system, including headers, a custom-grind cam and a dyno tune.

Though we don’t see final numbers, one would guess it’s making around 630 horsepower. The clip ends with a rear 3/4 shot of the carbon fiber Corvette idling, complete with the typical big cam sound. Interestingly, from this view, we can see that even the wheels on this car appear to be made of, or wrapped in carbon fiber, as well. If this thing is as light as it looks, it’s going to absolutely fly with all of the newfound power.
