Supercharged C5 Corvette

You might mistake this for an average C5 Corvette, but with a built drivetrain, it is far from stock.

The most attractive aspect of the LS1 engine is how well it responds to performance modifications and while scrolling through the C5 Corvettes For Sale section, we came across a car that is a great example of that aspect. Listed for sale by “AtlasInTheGym”, this bright yellow Corvette has an LS-based stroker motor fitted with a big supercharger, sending 737 horsepower to the rear wheels by means of the stock manual transmission with an upgraded clutch.

The Introduction

When the OP listed his stunning supercharged C5 Corvette for sale, he provided the following information.

C5 Corvette Blower

For sale is a built 6.3L supercharger corvette. It made 737hp and 655tq. Still plenty of room to grow. Sales slips for over $10k worth of work and that’s only half the parts. About 3k miles on the build. 95k on the body. Willing to trade for the right camper or dually truck only. Asking $18,000

Built 383
Custom ground cam built by sdpc
Afr 230 heads with 660 lift springs
Ti trim supercharger and secondary drive kit from a&a corvette
Xs power long tube headers and catless x pipe, bb bullet axle back
Monster rxt twin disk clutch
Upp secondary fuel system with hotwired ractronix 255 in tank pump
80# Injectors
Alky control meth injection with dual nozzles

The OP also included a ton of pictures, many of which show receipts from the build, but there were also a handful of shots of the car itself. We don’t get any full engine bay shots or whole shots of the rear end, but we do get a look at the laminated dyno sheet and a bunch of receipts.

Did we mention the receipts? There are lots of them.

The Big Build

The key feature of this 2001 Corvette is the 383-cubic inch stroker motor under the bright yellow hood. This engine began its life as a 5.3-liter V8 block that was bored and stroked to 6.3 liters or 383 cubic inches. That built block is topped by AFR cylinder heads that are fitted with long tube headers and a fully-upgraded exhaust system.

Of course, the most important component under the hood is the A&A Corvette Ti trim Vortech supercharger, which works with the upgraded fuel system to produce 737 horsepower and 655 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels.

That is significantly more power than the new C7 Corvette ZR1 sends to the wheels, but if you saw this C5 in a parking lot, you might look right past it as being nothing more than your average, stock LS1 car. Meanwhile, this 2001 would likely beat any stock C7 when properly driven.
