Corvette Driver Tests Car’s Power in the Least Inspiring Way
Corvette-led police chase lasted stretched through two Indiana counties before leadfoot suspect was ultimately apprehended.
Police in Indiana were recently led on quite a chase by a Corvette and its wanted owner. Indiana State Police first clocked the tan Corvette going 86 mph in a 70 mph zone. When they tried to pull over the ‘Vette, that’s when the action started.
According to Indiana State Police, Sargent Jared Nicoson attempted pull over the Corvette on I-70. But the driver had other ideas. He put the pedal to the metal, took the next exit, and gave chase.
Nicoson lost sight of the Corvette. But a short time later the vehicle was again spotted…and then the driver managed to shake the police a second time. Eventually, Nicoson almost got his man after noticing fresh tire tracks near a cemetery, and there, parked in on the grounds was the elusive ‘Vette.
However, the driver had taken off on foot. But his passenger was taken into custody.
Two hours and two counties later, the chase came to an end when the Corvette driver was captured after a foot chase.
The driver was identified as Jackson McClendon, who, police say, took off as he is wanted in Georgia on a variety of charges including–no surprise here–reckless driving.
We would never condone this sort of behavior, but we have to admit, when it comes to a getaway car, there is none finer than a Corvette.
