C8 Corvette Front Shot Leaked on YouTube!
Grainy picture of what appears to be a C8 Corvette reveals the uncovered front end of the Chevy sports car.
The next generation of the Chevrolet Corvette is scheduled to make its grand debut next week, but by the time it is officially introduced, there might not be much that we haven’t seen. A picture of what we believe is the rear end of the C8 spread quickly across social media yesterday, and today, we might have a look at the undisguised front end of the mid-engine Corvette.
The video above comes from the Street Speed 717 YouTube channel after the team at Jalopnik found it and somehow, the footage includes what appears to be a shot of the new Corvette from the front. It isn’t a great picture, but for those folks who don’t have enough of an imagination to see through the black-and-white camouflage used in the official teaser images of the next Chevy sports car, this is a good chance to see the face of the future ‘Vette.
Corvette Revealed
The focus of the video above is how the YouTuber Mike plans to buy a C8 when they come to market. In the video, he talks about the recently leaked rear end image, kind of complaining about the design and the lack of vents. He also points out that he is basing that opinion on a single shot of the rear end, but around the 6:40 mark of the video, he points out that he has a picture of the new Corvette from the front.
Then, at the 6:47 mark in the video, we see what certainly appears to be the next generation Corvette in blue, completely uncovered, from the front corner. The image is very grainy and it has been cropped tightly to hide the background. But we get a great look at the front end and the passenger’s side.
As expected, the C8 has a series of large vents running across the front, with a short hood and a set of sharply-angled headlights. The front end is awfully high, but that could also have been done when the image was being edited and cropped prior to being shared in the video.
Along the sides, we can see a huge vent, perfect for providing air to a mid-mounted engine, while the rear quarter panel appears to continue straight to the back of the car, providing the high-sitting tail that we saw in yesterday’s leak on Instagram.
Real or Not?
It is hard to imagine where this YouTuber got a picture of the C8 Corvette ahead of the grand debut, but it certainly appears to be a real picture. There is, of course, the possibility that this is a very well done photoshop of a spy shot of a camouflaged car, or a computer generated image. The graininess of the image would hide any problems that come with someone creating the image. But in any case, when the new Corvette debuts next week, we expect that it will look a whole lot like the blue car shown in this video.
