Taking place Sept. 22, car show will celebrate 66 years of the Corvette, and the Route 66 TV show that made it famous.

The Nebraska Corvette Association’s 26th Annual All-Corvette Show is set to take place on September 22. Celebrating 66 years of the Corvette, the show’s theme is “Route 66.”

Not only a famous American road, Route 66 is also the name of a classic TV series that helped to propel the Corvette into the national consciousness back in the early 1960s. The show followed the adventures of two young men driving across the United States in a Chevrolet Corvette.

Each week, the episode was filmed on location in a different American town. The highly influential series ran for four seasons and inspired a generation of Corvette lovers.

According to the Lincoln Journal Star, the 26th Annual All-Corvette Show takes place on the corner of North Cotner Boulevard and O Street in Lincoln, Nebraska, in the Ameritas Life parking lot. If past years’ events are any indication, it’s expected that over 200 Corvettes will be on display, with attendance of over 3,000 Corvette fans.

In addition to the judged car show, there will be a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, and several vendor booths. The Nebraska Corvette Association is heavily involved with the National Corvette Museum, and attendees will be able to by NCM merchandise at the show.

It should be noted that judged Corvettes must be pre-registered. However, if you show up on the day of the event and pay at the gate, you can still display your Corvette with the others in attendance.

It’s the largest Corvette car show in all of Nebraska. With such high attendance, we’re happy to report that the proceeds go to a good cause. Both the Food Bank of Lincoln and the Child Advocacy Center will be supported. The show will also provide scholarships for the GM Automotive Service Education Program at nearby Southeast Community College.

Established in 1967, the Nebraska Corvette Association boasts over 200 members, with Corvettes ranging from 1954 all the way up to 2019 – and a few members have 2020 C8s on order. They’re very involved with local charities, and they even participate in the Adopt-A-Highway program.
