One of Corvette’s most prolific salesmen tells us what options are being ticked when the paperwork is being signed for a new C8.
Corvette owners have always been able to make their ride unique through an abundance of options. Soon after the C8 Corvette debuted, Chevrolet doled out a number of options they felt you’d want to buy. So which ones are hot and which ones are not? Corvette salesperson Rick Conti can tell us what people are actually placing their money on.
Conti starts off with a few orders saying, “now I’m not going to go through over 200 orders I have so far. I just pulled seven orders at random.” Prospective buyers who might not be familiar with all of the options can get use from this. Conti continues, “by seeing [these orders] sometimes it could spark an idea for you because I know people are still in that discovery stage and they don’t quite know exactly what they want to order.”
Conti’s personal favorites color is Rapid Blue, so it’s no surprise that two Corvettes in that color are featured in this video. “Of course I had to pull a rapid blue order. This is a Stingray convertible that comes in at $97,715. It is a 3LT it has black seats inside and blue seatbelts.” This Corvette also has the high-rise wing, which is seen on a significant number of other orders pulled by Conti.
The interior options seem to be a bit one-sided as standard red or black interior is most common. GT2 seats were most common seat type. One order contained Competition sport seats, and they were for a buyer who will use his Corvette for some track driving. Only one order in this group was a convertible. Color selections still seem to be across the board. Torch Red and Tuxedo Black are no longer dominant. The splash of bright colors work great on the C8 lines. Conti has on order a Corvette in Accelerate Yellow as shown below. This Corvette will be delivered to the customer at the National Corvette Museum.
The Corvette’s starting price of $60,000 had us excited when the car debuted, but deep down, we knew adding options would drive the price sky-high. For some C8’s that will be true, but for this list, two cars slide in under $70,000. In fact, one is priced at $63,385. What options do you get with a Corvette of that price? On this high rise wing Corvette, Conti explains the options list; “a beautiful Rapid Blue 1LT with the Sky Cool grey seats, a dual stripe in Sterling Silver, battery protection package, Tension Blue seat belts, GT1 seats and silver open spoke wheels.”
Corvette’s online configurator has been live for a while now. That made us wonder if you’ve built your dream C8 yet. The better question is, have you already ordered yours? We’d love to see what our Corvette Forum members and enthusiasts will have in their garage.
