‘Corvette Forum’ Member Gives Excellent, Thorough C8 Review

Forget about those silly clickbait videos. Here’s an in-depth C8 Corvette review that’s really worth checking out.

By now, you’re probably a little tired of sifting through long, clickbait YouTube video reviews of the C8 Corvette. Because we are, too. We just want to hear from folks who have something substantial to say about the car, not those who spent 20+ minutes talking about how cool it is. Luckily, Corvette Forum member jagamajajaran (or Jeremy Welborn in real life) is here to save the day. Welborn recently posted this excellent video review here in the forums, and it’s exactly what we’ve been looking for.

Welborn took delivery of his C8 at the National Corvette Museum and promptly drove it home to Southwest Oklahoma. Which is a great time to give us some in-depth first impressions. Even if Welborn has to take it a little easy the first 500 miles during the break-in period. But even with just 350 miles on the car, he’s got nothing but nice things to say about it. “The car is phenomenal,” he says. “Everything that everybody’s said about it in their reviews is true.”

“The shifting is just instantaneous,” he continues. “It’s extremely smooth, and when you jump on it, man it’s precise. It blows me away. I’m a little limited torque-wise right now, but it’s already knocked my socks off. I can’t wait till I get to 500 miles and I can really see what she’s got.” Welborn also waxes poetic about his chosen color combination, as well as the ability to pick what you want. “The finish of the interior is first class,” he notes. “There is absolutely no skimping here.”

Welborn also loves the new rear-view mirror, which has been a hit with everyone so far. As well as the layout of the massive wall of buttons and the performance data recorder. Perhaps most interestingly, however, are his comments about ride quality. “This thing drives so smooth in touring mode,” Welborn says. “Soft suspension, just a little bit of tire noise and wind noise.”

“This is what I call a vintage masterpiece,” he concludes. “It is definitely a home run. A grand slam.” And that’s just touching the surface of Welborn’s fantastic, in-depth C8 Corvette review.
