While pulling up to the Goldenrod, Florida post office on Monday, 72 year old Ruth Lawyer tried to brake but mistakenly hit the gas pedal which plunged her 1-month-old 2012 Velocity yellow Corvette coupe into the front of the facility.

A spokesperson for the US Postal service said the accident shut down the post office after the Monday afternoon crash, but it reopened on Tuesday as repairs were being made to the front of the building.

The Florida Highway Patrol ticketed the driver for careless driving.
