Historic Vettes on Display at the Petersen for Corvette’s 60th Anniversary
To celebrate Corvette’s 60th Anniversary the Petersen devoted a sizable chunk of its second floor to showcase some of the hottest cars from every generation along with some wild ones never meant for mass production.
The 1956 Corvette SR-2 pictured above was special ordered?and raced?by Harley Earl’s son, and is still campaigned in vintage events today. Also on hand were the 1953 Corvette EX-122 Motorama Prototype, a 1960 Cunningham Le Mans Team Car, the mid-engine 1960 CERV 1 “Chevrolet Engineering Research Vehicle,” a NCRS Flight Award Winning 1984 Z-51, a 1963 Grand Sport, and the 240mph “Sundowner” C3. Check out the photos of those cars and more below!
