Engineers Test the C7 Corvette Stingray in the Rain

?Never seen rain? is a common saying among Corvette ?polishers?. But just because its raining, that doesn’t mean that testing comes to a halt with the new 2014 Corvette Stingray. We picked up this gem of a pic on twitter from LaFontaine Chevrolet in Dexter, MI showing a Laguna Blue Corvette Stingray driving in the wet.

A little rain on the roads offers the engineer driving this Laguna Blue Stingray Coupe a great opportunity to test out the new ?Weather? mode ? one of the five new selections configurable by turning the rotary knob on the Driver Mode Selector dial on the console.

How does the driving characteristics change when the driver selects the Weather mode? According to Chevy’s CorvetteStingray2014.com, ?In inclement weather, the vehicle senses and adapts to road conditions, distributing appropriate power to the rear wheels. Tailored Traction Control and throttle progression promote more confident driving in rain or snow.?

When the driver puts the Corvette into Weather mode, the configurable drivers display changes to this:

This 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe looks to be the non-Z51 version based on its rear spoiler. And although the wheels are blurry, it looks like these are the ?torque? wheels that will be available via the Genuine Corvette Accessories catalog.
