End of an Era: Bloomington Gold Ends its Run at Pheasant Run

Bloomington Gold closes an era as it finished a spectacular 2012 event at Pheasant Run Resort, St. Charles, IL and moves to downstate Illinois on the campus of the University of Illinois, Champaign for 2013.

Guy Larsen, owner and President said ?we had a good run at Pheasant Run but it is time to move to a new location.  Downstate will offer a more convenient location for the majority of our customers.?

Champaign in 2013 will also offer Bloomington Gold the ability to produce events that have not been possible to do in St. Charles.  For instance, the Road Tour will be able to feature convenient country roads and spectacular scenery ending in downtown Champaign for an evening of food and entertainment. 

Bloomington Gold will be able to do mini-tours of small groups to interesting destinations and they will be done all days of the show and will also offer an Autocross event in the coming years. 

For the show this year, 85 Corvettes received the Gold Certificate and the Survivor Collector Car event had seven Zenith awards. 

In its third year, ten people/organizations and ten cars were also inducted into the Great Hall which will feature fifty people/organizations and fifty cars over a five year period. 

Mecum Auction had a very successful auction at Bloomington Gold and in total there were over 400 new and used Corvettes for sale at Bloomington Gold in the auction, the dealers and the cars for sale by owner area. 

Chevrolet brought six 2013 Corvettes including the new, powerful 427 convertible, a Z06 and a ZR1 to the show.

In addition, hundreds of people participated in the Ride-and-Drive Experience with Chevrolet and had a chance to test drive a number of brands including an Equinox, Traverse, Silverado, Cruse, Malibu, Camaro, Volt, Sonic and a Corvette Grand Sport

The next Bloomington Gold is scheduled for Champaign in June 27-30, 2013.
