Corvette Auction Preview: Auctions America Fort Lauderdale
Now that the calendar has officially flipped over to spring, it’s time to shift your Corvette shopping into high gear. Auctions America will be offering almost 40 Corvettes as part of their 550 car docket this weekend in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Included in the bevy of available vehicles are a Motion Performance-built C3, a low mile 1978 Pace Car, and the very last Ron Fellows Z06.
This weekend’s sale in south Florida is one of several big auctions taking place over the next couple of weeks. We’ll have more details on Barrett-Jackson’s Palm Beach event and Mecum’s Houston auction coming up next week. Meanwhile here’s a look at a few of the cars you should be bidding on if you’re going to be in Fort Lauderdale this weekend.
Lot 550?1969 Motion Phase III Coupe:
This green C3 has travelled just 15,000 miles since new and sports 20 Motion Performance Phase III options. Included on the option list are a 454ci motor, a four-speed transmission with a Hone overdrive and Posi-traction,”Superbite” traction bars, an Edelbrock intake, a big Holley carburetor, dual-point distributor, Mallory rev-limiter, as well as a Hurst line-loc and Hurst shifter. Outside it wears the GT gas cap, Phase III hood, and side exhaust in addition to custom wheels. Documentation includes the Protect-O-Plate, tank sticker, full ownership history as well as letter of authenticity from Joel Rosen himself.
Lot 512?2007 Ron Fellows Z06 #399 of 399:
Like all 2007 Ron Fellows Z06’s this one wears Artic White paint and a red and black interior. Power comes courtesy of the standard 505hp LS7. This particular example is number 399, the very last of the 399 built. It was signed by Ron Fellows himself on the center console on January 23rd, 2007 and the odometer shows less than 150 miles from new.
