One of the criticisms that has long dogged the Corvette Team throughout the C6’s production has been the perceived lack of quality in the Corvette’s interior. We’ve been hearing about the how the 2014 C7 Corvette will rectify these issues and the third video trailer released this morning on Chevy’s One13Thirteen.com countdown site takes direct aim at the C7’s new interior. Called, ?CRAFT?, it sets to redefine the narrative by showing the construction of a hand-crafted interior featuring fine materials.

Corvette Team member Ryan Vaughan, Performance Car Interior Design Manager, does the voice-over duties for the third trailer while we we watch scenes showing the selection of premium materials and then sewing machines in super slow motion add dramatic effect for what we assume are the new seats that will go into the new sports car. As the sewing machines move up and down, Vaughan says:
?The exterior excites you, it draws you in, but the interior is where you actually experience the car from. It’s literally the connection you have to the car so it has to be perfect.?
While the trailer opens with some tight shots showing carbon fiber and closeups of the leather stitching, Chevy does a good job hiding the cockpit and instead focuses the attention of the workers ?Crafting? the C7’s interior.
We’ve seen glimpses of the new interior in some of the previous spy shots and a couple of the items that got Corvette enthusiasts excited was the appearance off racing-style seats and a new steering wheel.
Corvette’s interior designers will really have to step up their game and make sure the new interior right out of the gate to ensure the C6 Corvette’s real or imagined interior-quality deficit doesn’t propagate to the new Corvette.
This is the third installment of the Chevrolet’s C7 Corvette trailers. The first two dealt with aerodynamics and performance. The final video trailer unlocks on January 10th, just three days prior to the unveiling of the 2014 C7 Corvette on the eve of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 13, 2013.
