Somehow we get the feeling that the owner of this 2002 Z06 Corvette isn’t too worried about the mud that is all over his pride and joy.

We’re sure Shane Steelman is just glad to be alive after the EF5 tornado ripped through Moore, Oklahoma earlier this week and destroyed his home and his garage, where his Corvette was parked at the time.

When you look at the photo, it’s remarkable that Steelman’s Corvette is still in one piece, based on the devastation all around it. Other than the mud covering it and some rear quarter panel and mirror damage, the car looks like it shouldn’t be too hard to get back to normal. It certainly gives new meaning to the term ‘survivor? as it applies to Corvettes, doesn’t it?

Wouldn’t this car ” just as it is now ” make for an emotional display at the National Corvette Museum, as a memorial to the people who lost their lives to this terrible storm and a testament to the fortitude of the Oklahoma people?

We hope Mr. Steelman’s family made it through the storm safely and we wish his Corvette a speedy recovery. This is one Corvette with a remarkable story behind it now.
