We Have Early Details on the Changes in Store for the 2016 C7 Corvette
How’s this for a great way to start the day? Rick “Corvette” Conti has posted a preview of dealer ordering information regarding the 2016 C7 and it seems there are some cool things coming. He doesn’t have the full order guide yet, but there are some new option order codes and descriptions. There’s some great stuff here for which lots of people have been waiting. Don’t get too excited, though. This is all very early info. It may still change, and some of these options may be tied to special edition models. With that little bit of mumbo jumbo out of the way, let’s look at some of these things.
First off, we have word of a new paint color called Addiction Red Tint Coat, and there’s a new color for Convertible model tops called Bastille Red. A second vert top color dubbed Night Shadow Blue is also on the list. Rick thinks the red top will be limited to a special edition. I agree. It would be a nice option for buyers who order Arctic White verts with the red interior, though. Speaking of red seats, there’s a code for a new Spice Red interior and a Red with Suede seat option as well. There’s an option listed for Black with Suede, too. Interior options that seem to be returning are two-tone seats and contrast stitching in Red or Yellow.
Other exterior options include a few new wheel designs for the Z06, some new stripe packages, and a couple of different emblem and trim color bits. Again, a lot of these things sound like touches that will be applied to a special edition model.
Speaking of special edition models, there are a few listed in the paperwork, including a note for a C7-R Special Edition model of the Z06. That has me the most intrigued. I would assume that several of the above nice interior options and stripe packages are going to be reserved for the special edition, but we’ll know the truth soon enough. GM is set to release the full order guide at the end of this month.
When the guide comes out, Rick has promised to post it, so keep your eyes on the front page of this site. We’ll be sure to let you all know.
