Top Gear Names Z06 ‘Muscle Car of the Year’

Looks like 2015 is revving up to be another award-winning year for the Corvette.

Or, should I say “sounds like,” considering the model making all the noise these days is the new 650 horsepower, high-tech, catch-me-if-you-can Corvette Z06?

With Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson already giving the higher-performance ‘Vette great reviews, the European pub has taken it one step further, naming the Z06 its Muscle Car of the Year. That’s in addition to Clarkson naming the standard C7 Stingray as his personal Car of the Year for 2014 in the magazine’s new Awards Edition.

Now, I’m sure there are some folks who probably frown at the idea of the Z06 being classified as a “Muscle Car,” given its all-around performance capabilities that are comparable to automobiles like Ferrari and Porsche. However, considering that it is Top Gear, I’m inclined to let it slide knowing there are so many other awards on the horizon for the Z06 down the road.
